To present a text:

... nommez le texte et l'auteur - ... name the text and the author 

... résumez la situation ou le sujet du texte - ... summarize the situation or the subject of the text

... dites qui parle dans le texte - ... say who is speaking in the text

... dites de quoi il est question - ... say what it is about

Example:

Il s'agit d'un extrait du roman “Premier amour” de Turgenev, paru en 1860. Le texte parle d'un jeune héros qui vient d'avoir 16 ans.
